2018 ANNUAL REPORT

NATIONAL CAPITAL AREA COUNCIL

My Fellow Scouts and Scouters,

A parent recently asked if Scouting has the same impact today it did when he was a youth. We did some investigation to see what National Capital Area Council has achieved since he was a Scout and found that over the past 40 years NCAC has delivered the Scouting program to over 2 million youth. Local Scouts have earned 1.8 million merit badges – enough to stretch from the White House to Fredericksburg, VA – and over 60,000 have earned the Eagle Scout Award, providing over 5.6 million hours of community service. Those are impressive statistics, but are they impact? Let’s
think about them in a different way.

For over a century National Capital Area Council has been making an impact on our community by evolving to meet
the needs of families. Thank you for helping make that possible.

Thank you for all you do for the Scouts!

Yours in Scouting,

Dr. James Smith, Council President | Roy Rogers, Council Commissioner | Craig Poland, CEO & Scout Executive
